The workshop was organised by the Drag Reduction and Flow Control Special Interest Group (SIG 20) of ERCOFTAC. This was the 40^th anniversary of European Drag Reduction and Flow Control Meeting, which started under the name of the European Drag Reduction Meeting in 1986.

We had a record number of participants of 104 academics, researchers and students from 18 countries (Spain, Italy, Japan, UK, France, USA, The Netherlands, Germany, China, Türkiye, Australia, Greece, UAE, Sweden, Morocco, India, Denmark and Algeria.) for this 4-day, single-session meeting.

A poster session was also organised for the first time, allowing PhD students to present their early work for discussions and feedback from the participants.
