Biography: Stefano Discetti is Full Professor of Aerospace Engineering, Scientific Director of the Department of Aerospace Engineering’s Unit of Excellence at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, and Visiting Professor at the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics. His research lies at the intersection of experimental fluid mechanics, optical diagnostics, and artificial intelligence. He is principal investigator of an ERC Starting Grant and an ERC Proof of Concept Grant focused on advancing flow measurement and control through data-driven approaches. He also serves on the Editorial Board of Measurement Science and Technology. His current research focuses on machine learning for extracting information from experimental data and on the use of event-based cameras as key enablers for flow measurement and control.
